We are delighted that we’ve been short-listed as Newcomer Agency of the Year in the 2010 MCCA Best Awards. As always with these things, there’s a mixture of excitement and trepidation. We want to win it. We’d hate to lose.

You can check out the complete shortlist here. The big night is the 4th March. Wish us luck or even vote for us!

A ‘Real’ Viral success

Posted by: Chris Falconer

January 26, 2010 - 03:01:23

Back to basics is an over-used phrase but an under-used strategy. Sometimes you’ve got to look at problems with a child-like simplicity.

While many of us were sitting at home, watching the news and wondering what we could do to help the people of Haiti in their time of need, little 7 year-old Charlie Simpson was telling his mum that he wanted to ride his bike around the local park to raise money.

His target was £500. To date, he’s raised £180,000.

In truth, it’s a heart-warming story that makes even the coldest of hearts defrost – Simon Cowell has given £5k – but the way it has spread around the internet is a testament to the very nature of a viral. He raised £80k in the first day and even more in the last 24 hours. If you haven’t received the link, then here you go:

My kinda cake

I work with a great girl called Louise. Very good at what she does in work.

Out of work she makes kick-ass cakes.

I wonder if she would make some like these if I asked her?

Doubt it, she would say they lack finesse and are far from pretty (but then, so is hardcore).

Whoever was briefed to make such cakes got it bang on.

Lego Cl!cks

Lego have long seen themselves as the definitive facilitators of creative play and, so, creative thinking. The role of Lego in the development of young minds, stretching and connecting infant synapses, is oft quoted and undeniable.

So it’s only right that they launch a site dedicated to great moments of inspiration… when the planets align, when light bulbs pop… when an idea just Cl!cks. Have a look around.

How advertising has changed

Posted by: SJB

January 11, 2010 - 10:01:19

Just found a great site for checking out vintage adverts from the US. Interesting to see that although we’ve come so far in terms of technological advance the message still focuses on driver ‘aspiration’.

Look out for those clouds
