Innocent Village Fete 2008

Well, despite the stormy weather, today saw the second and final day of London’s largest, friendliest and altogether nicest mass get together – the Innocent Village Fete, courtesy of those Innocent smoothie folks, naturally.
There really was something for everyone – welly wanging, duck herding, dog agility, Dynamo’s Rhythm Aces’ (a 3 piece combo) seminal version of Motorhead’s Ace of Spades, Professor Jephcott’s Flea Circus and all manner of fete games like pin-the-tail-on-the-badger.
Added to the fun was a profusion of Innocent’s own initiatives like The Big Knit where anyone could stop in for a spot of spontaneous knitting to add to the 400,000 hats Innocent customers have knitted and the £200,000 raised as a result. Obviously, there were plenty of nice green, wholesome messages to make us feel just a little bit smug about our considered consumption.
That said, it was really very impressive. And what’s most impressive is that, as their business continues to spread it’s wings, the Innocent team remains absolutely faultless in their consistent and creative delivery of their brand values. It still feels fresh and it’s just a very pleasant experience being entertained by them on a wet Sunday afternoon. Frankly, who could do it better. We had a great time.
